Before You Fade

Before You Fade is general information, not medical advice. I'm not a doctor. Talk to a qualified clinician before starting any supplement, especially if you're pregnant, take medication, or have a thyroid, liver, or autoimmune condition.

Sleep & Recovery

Sleep is where the afternoon fade usually starts. Not always in the obvious way. Plenty of men get into bed at a reasonable hour and still wake up tired, because the night was chopped into pieces: a 3am wake-up with a racing mind, a drink that felt relaxing at 10pm and backfired at 2am, or an espresso at 4pm that was still circulating at midnight.

Stress and sleep feed each other. A stressful day can make it harder to stay asleep, and a bad night makes the next day’s stress feel bigger. Breaking that loop is less about gadgets and more about a few basics done consistently: a fixed wake time, morning light, an earlier caffeine cut-off, less alcohol close to bed, and a plan for what to do when you wake at 3am.

This section covers what the research says about stress, cortisol and sleep, and which habits have the best evidence. If you snore loudly, stop breathing at night, or feel sleepy while driving, that’s a job for a sleep clinician, not a blog, and these articles will say so.
